We understand how stressful it is when you find an injured animal.
Unfortunately, Feline and Wildlife Rescue Nottingham is run by volunteers around their full-time jobs and therefore cannot help in every occasion. If you need immediate help and cannot wait for us to get back to you please look at the information below:
If you find an animal that needs URGENT care:
Such as actively bleeding, has an obviously broken limb/wing, has obvious wounds, is struggling to breathe, has been brought in by a cat or looks to be dying
Please take this animal straight to a Vet. In these cases, the animal will need emergency treatment. Many of our volunteers work at Veterinary Practices around Nottingham and have built up relationships with others.
If you find an animal who you SUSPECT to be injured or ill:
Such as limping, not flying, eyes closed in the daytime, hedgehogs out in the daylight, missing feathers/fur, ticks present etc
1) Please call your local vets for advice. They may be able to refer you to a wildlife friendly vet if they are not able to assess themselves.
2) Contact us via facebook or the website and await our reply. Please take and send a photo of the issue (if possible) to help guide us when we are advising. Information regarding your area, ability to transport and what species you have is invalauble to us. Care not to stress wild animals with your presence if not neccessary!
If you wish to wait for our reply it is worth containing the animal and seeking transport ready if possible. We ask people to contain animals if they need collecting to ensure the animal does not hide somewhere out of reach. If you are containing an animal for a short period of time, please ensure they are kept somewhere of adequate temperature for that species, quiet and away from children/pets, provide a shallow dish of water so they can drink if able but cannot get wet. Some food can do more bad than good so if you are not sure what to feed, it is probably better not too until you receive some advice.
NO NOT FEED BIRDS MILK AND CARE PROVIDING WATER AS BIRDS EASILY ASPIRATE.
Thank you to all who care and want to help injured wildlife, we do appreciate you!

Hello!
Please remember, we are an entirely volunteer-led team. We do this in our spare time, alongside having full time jobs, families, and lives.
Please be patient and kind.
We are doing our best at a time when demand hugely supersedes capacity.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
