As of 19th May 2022: Nottingham is currently within a Avian Flu protection and surveillance zone.

As most of our volunteers work in veterinary practice we are struggling to assess and rehab critical/young birds. A lot of veterinary practices can only offer end of life care due to the risk to human health and pet birds.

We are sorry and saddened for the inability to help in a lot of cases, we will try to continue to advise but it is likely we will refer cases onwards to other rescues.

We will update if and when the situation changes.

Thank you for understanding,

Team FAW
